Supporting pre-K. Bill De Blasio, who is running for Mayor of New York City is suggesting a tax hike for individuals making more than $500,000. The increase would serve to expand universal pre-K, allowing working parents to leave their children in school for a full day. Off the team. Matt Labrum, the football coach at Union High School in Utah suspended his entire team this week after reports of bullying. Labrum told the players that “the lack of character we are showing off the field is outshining what we are achieving on the field,” and instructed them to turn in their jerseys. He is requiring all of the players to do community service and take classes on character building before returning to the team. (Desert News)
